Lolita Series - This is result of one semesters worth of study. Last semester and during parts of this semester I focused on the sexualization and objectification of modern day Lolita’s and this semester/final project I focused on Lolita’s who do it because “lolita” is something that is sexualized and objectified in order to feed an inner need to be seen as desirable and wanted.
I understand that the themes I am exploring in this series do not reflect all Lolitas and should not be taken at face value. I an just exploring a topic and reflecting the circumstances I have encountered through my work in order to get a better understanding of the world surrounding Lolita.
Lolita - Wall of panties!
50 hand sewn panties - meant to address the ideas of what we see as sexual vs innocent based on age, intent, or perception. (I think there are less 50 on the wall… but that was due to the fact that this orientation / layout worked best with the space I had available to me)

Not to be considered as a complete body of work or as works of art - rather as a study - working through ideas - to try to find out the best way to communicate w/ the audience. Taking found images and themes from Lolita and presenting them in a ” detached ” way/environment. Critique was less then helpful… don’t know what to do or where to go next.
